I have been working on my artist statement. I had out grown the previous. I’ve been working on it for a while now, researching, trying to find the right words. New statement below. ⬇️
Sarah is a contemporary painter who lives in St.Ives, Cambridgeshire. She has spent many years working in promotion, merchandising and window display. Sarah's love of painting started in her mid twenties when in 2005 she studied with the Open College of the Arts. Sarah's studies led her to complete a BA in Fine Art at the Cambridge School of art in 2015. Sarah's work focuses on paintings, which can be seen as a study through the exploration of experience and memory.Sarah is a colourist. Sarah seeks colour and light in forms collected from experiences and memories of social encounters. The collection of forms is used to create a narrativity through a study of past time re-enactments. The exploration of colour and light combined with the collected images merge on the canvas exploring paint texture and medium.
Sarah has been involved in many group exhibitions and featured through online social media platforms and magazines.
